Poll: Should HPV vaccination be mandatory?

Specifically, should it be required for girls around age 11 or 12, since that’s the only issue that has so far made it to the big arenas. Texas tried and failed to make it a rule; Maryland is working on it next. But, obviously, it’s not a black-and-white issue:
Do you think HPV vaccination should be mandatory for middle school girls?
- It’d be mandatory for MY children, at any rate. (100%)
- Yes! (0%)

I’ve changed my stance on this. When I was diagnosed, I was SO MAD that I knew nothing about the disease or where it came from and that whoever gave it to me probably never even knew that they had it but it might have threatened my life… ::pause for breath:: …I was pretty sure I wanted everyone, male and female, to be vaccinated from birth.
But because of the occasional adverse reaction, I’m not really down for mandatory vaccination. I’d hate to be forced to do something that then caused me to black out (as happened to A.V.) or have a rash or whathaveyou. And of course, medical history has to be taken into consideration.
But those are, in my opinion, the ONLY reasons to block vaccination. The original Texas ruling (which was overruled shortly after) states that parents can opt out on the basis of “conscience” or religious beliefs. That’s not really mandatory at all, then - good, because again, I’m not in favor of forced medical decisions - but for what I feel (fear?) are dubious reasons.
